The Y5s had a stunning start to their topic on Ancient Egypt with an action packed day of role play, dancing and craft activities. Led by the grand high vizier, children were chosen to play important roles, such as the Pharaoh Ramases and his Queen Nefertari, guards, taskmasters, dancers and tomb robbers! In a special ceremony at the end of the day, the gifts we had made were presented to the mighty pharaoh to go with him into the afterlife.
Well done to the children, who put an incredible amount of effort into their costumes, and who were well behaved and enthusiastic throughout. We learned a huge amount about many Egyptian beliefs and customs - what a way to kick start the year!
All bow before the Pharaoh and his queen!
